On the start of the whole ride, I guess there were a lot of things that I never know I had, and I can do in this course specially the ones that are already in my possessions and the things that are going to be in my possession, for the only thing that could come up to my mind in the word technopreneur is doing business or selling items and etc. But I never knew that the things I’m going to learn from it would be really something I’m going to be with for the rest of the whole course development, to be more versatile and productive in this environment I’m in. As what I had learned and seen in the whole semester of our subject Technopreneurship 1 our facilitator had come up with several ways on giving us pointers, tips, studies and support on how the world of technology and entrepreneurship world collide, same thing on how the things that we would learn could give us hints and ideas on how to make a good line of business to put up that we could really consider someday like the activities, topics and discussions we had already been.
In our first assignment was to pick one food chain or any businesses we could me some adjustments or anything we could add-up to make their service more advance or any advice that we could give to make their company more productive. All the things we had given were much unreasonable if you would take it as a joke but still the things we had written as an advice to the company for me was fascinating if it can be put into realization. And would really fasten and lessen up the whole process and services of our chosen food chains.
The first start of discussion we had was on the introduction of the SEED or Self-Mastery, Environment-Mastery, Enterprise-Mastery and Development of the Business Plan. The whole process wasn’t done yet because we are still stuck-up in the Self-Mastery if I’m not wrong for some many reasons but still we are on the process on finishing the whole discussions. On Self-Mastery we were being asked on what are our future plans if ever we finished our courses a self-check if what are the things we really love and what are the things we avoid or hate it is very important to have a business that you love or like a hobby in which you have a great courage that this business of yours would not be a bluff.
Just after the discussion a following film was being watched for us to see some history about our course and how the characters of the movies stood up and reached for their dreams never backing up that their decisions would make them regret someday or go to waste. The story was in titled “Pirates of the Silicon Valley” The story rotates in the two person who had a dream on out running the biggest computer company of their time the IBM or International Business Machines who had made them more eager to strive more and more everyday of their lives. The character I admire most was “Steve Jobs”, he has the attitude in which I could really use and I really like, he was a very optimistic and very wise person which he uses to come up with a good plan every time he plans to make something for his company.
I thought that Steve Jobs was a man who was a self-centered man who only thinks for his self but in his commencement address I learned more about Steve Jobs life and dedication in life in more of his being just the way he is, doing what he love. I always thought that the apple’s CEO was a man who always thought of his every move, the one who cleverly thinks of his decision every time he makes things that only he can thought of. But in this commencement address he made me think of a different Steve Jobs.
In the first story of Steve Jobs life connecting the DOTS, he told the graduating students that he had never graduated in college nor finished a degree that he can be proud of but instead he humbly said that “this is the closest I’ve ever gotten into a college graduation. He stopped not because he was tired or bored of going to classes but he was thinking of his parents savings in their entire life spent away for his tuition. Yet he finds it to be wasteful just to be spent on his studies. So he drop out and live his life on his own, taking action for his life at the age of 17 I mean there is no typical students today who would want to drop out of school because of just the thought that this is not what I wanted and their parents money might be going to waste. Thinking he can do something in the future that would be enough of his belief he can manage his life for the next day to day living. And in that he haven’t given a bit of worry for his self but instead he thought of it as an opportunity for his self to try new, now he could do what he really wants and won’t waste a single penny for a subject he had pay that he doesn’t even know if that subject would give him an idea of his future use. He faced all the trials thinking that there is something, why he chose to quit schooling and later on he was fascinated by the calligraphy so he took up calligraphy classes and for that Steve Jobs said “It all came back to me. And we designed it all into the Mac. It was the first computer with beautiful typography. If I never dropped in on that single course in college, the Mac would have never had multiple typefaces or proportional spaced fonts. And since Windows just copied the Mac, it’s likely that no personal computer would have them.” That was true that if he never decided for his future all of that won’t be able to come to be as it is today.
The second story Love and Loss. Like what Steve Jobs have decided he wants to find first what he really loves to do and not just to let his future be at stake going to skill learning the things he doesn’t want to do so. He said he was lucky to find what he love at a very young age of 20. They worked hard and in just ten years later the small business he and his best friend Woz put up bloomed into a $2 billion company with them as 2 employees into 4000, in this he had made a difference of a man who had nothing into something in the future because of his ability and will into pursuing what he loves. He said ten years later he got fired on his own company, he felt very devastated, he wanted to run away from the valley but still he find himself to be in love the same feeling he felt the first time he figured what he really love. He build a new company named NExT a company similar to Apple, and another company named Pixar a company who creates a fully computer animated feature film, like the Toy Story. And yet like a twist of a story Apple bought NExT and Jobs came back to the Apple and now he is the CEO of the Apple. It’s likely a twist of destiny to reconciling what has been planned for him, a taste of what he forgets to be what he really was when he has nothing but, just a simple Steve Jobs a dropped out of college, whose taking chances of what he had, and what he owns.
The third story DEATH. Steve jobs live in a saying “If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you’ll most certainly be right.” And like every day of his routine he faces the mirror and asks his self “If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?” And whenever his answer was “NO” he feels there must be something to change. Like I myself, every day I wake up I always felt that there is a missing puzzle of my life that something is wrong what I am doing and taking up every day is not me a longing for something that could fell up the missing puzzle of me though I can’t take the path the same way as what Steve Jobs had I will still do my best to find that something. It opened up a mind that there is still a chance that someday I would find that something inside me like what Jobs had and felt.
Steve Jobs had done something because even in our time, like what our facilitator had said every students mind set would be to go to school, have a high grades, finish their studies and go to a high paying job, or even go to abroad to have a more high paying jobs, that’s it no more no less but it opened my eyes that wouldn’t it be more nicer to go to school, have a high grades, finish our studies and make a business or a company. Now you can help other people, plus you would earn more money, plus you can decide for yourself because you would be the boss. I mean doesn’t it sound nicer than the usual mind set. You could make a big difference for your family, for our city, for our country or even for the world someday. And that thought, Steven Jobs and our facilitator have just gave me. STAY FOOLISH AND STAY HUNGRY.
And there was a person who sneaks in his company, waiting for a time to take all the things Jobs had put up and made. For the thought that I admired him since the day I had known computers “Bill Gates” he plans the whole looting when Steve Jobs loses his focus and become unguarded of his own emotions and pride he was more insensitive, boastful, and not a guy who do not have a GOD. In which later he realize that everything he had was only a gift that could be easily taken away just in a blink of an eye. But still God was so generous on him after realizing all his mistakes he had regain his company not just the company but also his dignity. It was a movie that is so good to watch over and over. Because of all the moral values that can be taken and learned from the two characters of the movie and even if you have all the things in the world that wouldn’t count a single bit because once you take advantages of all the people and things that surrounds you it can either be loosen up by you or taken by force by others from you.
Second was, the personal traits test, IQ test, EQ test and AQ test. Our facilitator said that you cannot have all the things in life but if you can have a good attitude towards others, then you can have everything you can desire of. Being a technopreneur doesn’t requires a big percentage of IQ (Intellectual Quotient), but much more to have a good personality, right emotion control and a high adversity you have a bright future in this world of IT because it would not matter if you have an IQ of Einstein but your personal traits are like a monster from the televisions. It’s like everything that could happen to you mostly likely in the technopreneur world could reflect in your attitude and mind set of. It could either help or destroy you if you cannot have a well balance Personal Traits, Emotional Quotient and Adversity Quotient. And that I think would really help you in your ladder on your way in climbing up so we can reach our goals in a good and fast way.
Third was our purpose in life to be said what if all the things we had dreamed lived and grown for will be taken away, what would our main goal would be and why? For me all the things in my life was never a mistake and had happen for a reason, there are some points in my life that sometimes I can’t see the finish line, nor I cannot think what are really my goals why I survive for these past years of my life here in USeP. I cannot tell right now what would my goals and dreams would be right now but I can assure, that I will find that dream and catch that goal no matter how long and effort it would take as long as my family and love ones would be there for me and my loving father up there would guide me. I will succeed in this field I choose from. And even we haven’t finish yet from compliance of our technopreneur 1 from the last semester we will never stop to dream and hope that someday we would graduate and likewise I never felt my time would be wasted if this learning and understanding in my field would continue and think I would grow much more than what I expected I can only be.
In our first assignment was to pick one food chain or any businesses we could me some adjustments or anything we could add-up to make their service more advance or any advice that we could give to make their company more productive.
